2016 ECE Academy for Transfer Students
The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department is pleased to offer the 2016 ECE Academy for Transfer Students, which consists of a five-week program from July 30th through September 2nd, where students will enroll in courses as described below. The courses will provide a strong academic foundation so students can rapidly progress in their degree program at UC San Diego and graduate sooner. In addition, students will participate in advising and other activities to ensure a smooth transition to UC San Diego.
Eligibility and How to Apply
All transfer students who are admitted to UC San Diego in Fall 2016 to any of the majors, B.S. in Electrical Engineering, B.S. in Engineering Physics, or B.A. in Electrical Engineering and Society, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering are eligible to apply to the ECE Academy. Students in the B.S. in Computer Engineering major should go through the
CSE Academy for Transfer Students.
Application for admission to the Academy will be open on May 2, 2016. Please consult the 2016 Academy calendar for more details. Students are encouraged to complete the application
as soon as they decide to join UC San Diego.
Courses and Prerequisites
All students admitted to ECE Academy will be enrolled in the following courses, when they accept their admission and pay the fee. The five week program consists of the following courses:
All students are also expected to enroll in ECE 198 for 2 units with instructor Curt Schurgers [Summer Session II section id: 883993] and Math 98S for 1 unit with instructor John Eggers [Summer Session II section id: ??????]. These courses reflect the supplemental instruction provided by the instructors.
Enrollment in Math 20E requires the completion of a course equivalent to Math 20C (Calculus for Science and Engineering III). Please consult http://assist.org for checking whether you will have met the prerequisite for Math 20E by August 1, 2015.
ECE 25 has no prerequisites.
